Hi,
My name is Darlene Quick, better
known as Debby. I live in the
picturesque sea port of Pt.
Lincoln, South Australia with my
husband Linden. I worked as a
veterinary assistant for many
years, while my husband was
involved in construction work.
Both my husband and I have a
deep lifelong love of all
animals, and we spent many
decades breeding, training and
showing coloured horses, before
an accident forced my husband to
retire, and our horses became
our retired pets, many are very
old now ( our grand old
foundation mare Shylee shared
our lives for over 30 years). It
was at this time that a new
‘vision’ appeared on our horizon
in the form of a little kitten
we named Stubby. Little did we
realize then that this
unregistered Himalayan, who was
given as a comfort to us by a
friend, would turn our lives
completely upside down, totally
enchant us, and lead us on a new
uncharted path into the world of
cats. Stubby was our friend and
mentor, and we owe so much to
her.

I became a registered breeder
under the prefix ‘Summaglo’ in
June 1990. I started out
breeding Himalayans with cats
from Jacaranda, Gemara, Sirron,
Shan Don, Jady, Leroy and
Wywory lines.
In 1996 I became interested in
Exotics also. I purchased my
first Exotic girl, Sankaryn
Prima Donna, an orange eyed
white, who has produced some of
my best kittens, and her lines
still live on here. I do not
show my cats due to distance
involved, but those cats I have
bred which have been shown by
others have done very well.
Over the years I have met and
become friends with many
breeders, too numerous to name,
but all are appreciated. My
special thank you goes to the
late Sandi Allan (Sankaryn
Cattery) for her support,
advice, friendship, and
entrusting into my care her
young stud boy. Thank you also
to Lesley Gaze (Spellbound
Cattery) for caring for and
showing to Grand Champion status
my Exotic girl Summaglo
Reflections. Thank you to Maria
Fincato (Minnamurra Cattery),
for her lovely girl Minnamurra
Hart O Harts and to Jodie Mc
Hardy (Jodenea Cattery) for
sending me Jodenea Man About
Town, my senior stud. Lastly but
by no means least a big thank
you to Karin (Shere Fara
Cattery) for her support and
encouragement – for without this
lady there would be no website.
I also would like to thank Petty
(Nightwing's Graphics) so very
much for her wonderful design of
this site.
I humbly take
this time to thank my husband
Linden for allowing me the
freedom to pursue my dream, and
giving me often much needed
strength, and to all my four
legged friends who stood beside
me, shaped my dreams, and shared
their lives with me – my heart
overflows with gratitude.
